One of our literary curators reviews your profile and hand-picks a title from our library of over three thousand vetted books. Every recommendation comes with a written note explaining why this particular book was chosen for you at this moment in your reading life.

Receive your seed package
Your book arrives wrapped in a custom reading guide that includes discussion prompts, related titles, and a suggested reading pace. We ship across Canada using eco-friendly packaging sourced from Quebec suppliers.

Why we believe in slow book discovery

Rich Book Seed was founded on the conviction that a book chosen by a thoughtful human — someone who has read it, lived with it, and understood its particular gifts — will always outperform a recommendation engine.

Our curators are working writers, librarians, educators, and translators based in Quebec and across Canada. Each brings a distinct literary sensibility and a deep commitment to connecting readers with work that matters. We do not chase bestseller lists. We chase resonance.
Every book we select has passed through at least two curatorial readings. We look for voice, depth, emotional honesty, and the kind of craft that rewards re-reading. Whether the title is a debut novel from a small press or a rediscovered classic from another century, it earns its place in our library through merit alone.

Most subscription boxes send the same title to every subscriber. We do the opposite. Each book selection is individually curated based on your unique reader profile. You will never receive a book chosen by an algorithm or a marketing partnership — only by a human curator who has read it themselves.
Absolutely. When you fill out your reader profile, you can indicate a preference for specific collections or ask to be surprised across categories. Many of our most delighted readers are those who let us cross boundaries they would not have crossed on their own.
Currently we ship throughout Canada. International shipping is something we are exploring for 2026, starting with the northeastern United States. Join our community list and we will notify you when cross-border delivery becomes available.
It happens rarely, but if it does, simply let us know within seven days and we will send a replacement title at no additional cost. We also ask you to list books you have recently read in your profile, which helps our curators avoid duplicates.
Yes, and it is one of our most popular options. You can purchase a gift seed for one, three, or six months. The recipient fills out their own reader profile, so the curation is tailored to them. We include a handwritten note from you in the first delivery.
